Synopsis : Mark, un garçon aveugle de 14 ans est pourvu d'un don paradoxal, en tout cas avec son infirmité : celui d’avoir des visions subites qui s'avèrent le plus souvent morbides et prémonitoires. Mark et sa sœur Christine héritent d'une pension située à Venise. En effet, en pleine messe, leur grand-tante a pris feu. Malédiction ? Phénomène paranormal ? Il semble que le diable lui-même hante une ville à l'allure délétère avec comme antre la vaste demeure qui vient de leur revenir. En témoignent les visions sanguinaires de Mark qui, dès son arrivée, s'accentuent. Un homme, doté d'une pèlerine noire et d'une canne-épée tue devant lui une jeune femme qu'il ne connaît pas. Christine, bien entendu, a bien du mal à croire les dires de Mark. Un autre jour, cette dernière se coupe le doigt lors du dîner. L'homme mystérieux à l'allure satanique se met à sucer la plaie de Christine qui, peu de temps après, rencontre dans la réalité cet homme dont elle tombe rapidement amoureuse.
